Welcome to The Common Sense Kansan! This is what I hope will be the first of many articles, opinions, and pages to come. I am not a professional writer, commenter, or anything of the like. I am just another American who has opinions about the world and the things in it. I have spent my life avoiding social media and much of the vile and insanity that it contains. I have never been one to post or comment. Rather I have observed the grand theater that is our society and culture from the back row where I have often come away disappointed in how we as a society have decided to conduct ourselves.
In these pages and articles I plan to write about anything that I find interesting. Whether it is politics, the news, a scientific discovery, or just a how-to article, it will be discussed in an objective, no-nonsense, and no-apologies fashion. Our country was founded on a number of defining ideas that have formed what is today, The United States of America. One such idea is the principle of free speech and the clash of ideas. My goal is to provide a “sounding board” for myself and anyone who reads my words. The first thing that a man must recognize and admit is that you are not infallible, you are not and will never be right 100% of the time. This includes myself and anyone reading. You may not always agree with that which I have written, and you don’t have to. If you come away from these articles with a different perspective, or you come back to challenge your own ideas, then you are one of the few honest individuals who remain in our society.
To those honest few, I welcome you and I hope that you find the perspective of a man just like you to be thought provoking.
